The rudder steering arm was found to be not strong enough and that alteration of the rudder to its position on the rudder post difficult. A new system was developed where by the rudder post fixing is in two halves locked together by a nut and bolt.
To alter the position of the rudder to the turning arm the holding nut and bolt are loosening and then tighten up after alteration have been made. A totally successful modification. Also the arm itself was strengthened by soft soldering a piece of flat brass to the top side.
